During the middle of 2023, myself and my wife decided it is time for at least one of us to get a new car, but that we both will need a new car in the close to middle future (2 years or so). Both of us had noticed the rise of Havals on the road and decided we should give it a go, especially as it seemed that they were very affordable. We therefore went to Haval Sandton to test drive two models, The Jolion for my wife, and the H6 4WD for myself.
From the get go, Cheryl was absolutely fantastic. I can safely say that I have never got on so well, or felt so important to any salesperson as with Cheryl. She was extremely personable, had just the right amount of small talk and showed interest in our lives, and the right amount of discussion regarding the cars. We did not feel rushed or pushed in anyway, while feeling that we should at some point get at least 1 Haval in our growing family. I mentioned to Cheryl at the time that we would likely only be able to get a vehicle at the end of the year.
In December, a friend put me in contact with what was a very good deal at another dealership. I went, test drove, and really enjoyed the H6 (we decided for me to get a car first as my wife's car is 3 years younger than mine). They made me an offer for me to take the car and I let them know that I was interested and asked them to proceed with obtaining financing options.
I did not however forget Cheryl's exceptional service, and sent her a message mentioning the situation I was in. She asked for a day to try to work on a better deal. While she did not get me a lower price, she was able to get me to spend R50k more on her deal rather than go with the other deal. I was already pushing my limits with my budget. Together with Alpesh, they were able to get me a significantly better interst rate for the remainder of the financing I required, and with the bank of my choice. I went into Haval Sandton this week, thinking I may perhaps be wasting my time as I doubted that they would provide me with a better deal than the one I had but felt obligated to go in due to Cheryl's service the previous time. Cheryl twisted my arm, managed to get me to spend more yet feel (and I believe "know") that I had definitely made the correct choice to go with Haval Sandton. I am absolutely thrilled with the car. Cheryl went way above and beyond for us. She even remembered that my wife was pregnant during the year, and has shown much interest in our son. She even had a little gift for him which means so much to myself and my wife.
We are hoping to purchase another Haval next year for my wife, and we will DEFINITELY be going back to Haval Sandton, so that we can deal with the absolutely awesome, and wonderful, Cheryl Claasens. She is a real gem and a fantastic human being.
